Encountering God through worship, the word and His people.
We worship a God who loves to connect with his children. We believe that worship is a key place where we see and experience our God, as He is revealed through His word and the people he has created in His image.
Building healthy families through community and restoration.
We foster an environment where friends become family; through intentionally creating and nurturing friendships we make each other better. By partnering with Jesus and creating environments of vulnerability, we help restore people to the health He intends for us.
Empowering people through the Holy Spirit.
God created each of us with callings and gifts. The church is at its healthiest when we have the freedom to operate within our divine callings and purposes in the maturity of the fruit of the spirit. Our aim is to see the Kingdom of God manifest in all aspects of life. When people walk in the fullness of who they are Godās kingdom expands.
Our Vision
Godās desire is that everyone would know His love, and that His presence would be made known all over the world. His kingdom is advancing into all avenues of life and as representatives of God we are called to the various spheres of influence in our city. From schools, court houses, and businesses to art districts and music venues. We believe God is transforming our city to be a place where His glory is displayed. Our desire is to build a community where people can be fostered and nurtured to carry the glory of God into our city. We want to see people walk in health and freedom, in the fullness of their calling, carrying the authority God has given them in Christ.

Alberto Suriel
Lead Pastor
Alberto has been the Lead Pastor of City of Refuge for 4 years and was previously the associate Pastor for 5 years before that. Ā He's married to his beautiful wife Alysia and they have 2 amazing daughters. Alberto owns a website/software company with two of his friends where they help small businesses and organizations tell their story through web marketing. He also has the honor of being apart of The Rev Group, an international association of churches coming together in friendship and support.

Our Hope
